Things to Know
WOOKSTOCK is a party that the host band, Mocking Larry, throws for the sole purpose of having a place for us to play. Over the years, MANY musicians have graciously come out to share the stage and it has been an honor to share it with them!
Yes, it really is FREE. The bands and the hosts spend a considerable amount of money, believe me!, but we do NOT charge for parking or admission. It's a PARTY; how could we?!
There ARE things you can spend $ on. We will have a food vendor on property. There will be Wookstock teeshirts for sale. Some of the bands have merch for sale. We will also graciously accept any donations, which would go toward stage/lights/sound and many other expenses.
Wookstock is safe and clean. Medical professionals are ridiculously over-represented there. 99% of the people there know each other; many friends and family. We bring in plenty of porta-potties and cans for trash & recycling. The land is treated to help suppress mosquitos.
We are very organized with our parking, and there is plenty of room.
This is a kid-friendly affair. For alot of these kiddos, Wookstock is their very first time experiencing a band perform live on stage and these memories will last a lifetime!
We will have a bouncehouse and we also encourage people to bring any crowd-friendly toys that they want. RC cars, beach balls, water toys, kites, etc. There is alot of space; usually enough for soccer or frisbee.
**We do ask that drones either be left at home, or, flown BY AN ADULT in a manner (and distance from the crowd) that keeps everyone out of harm's way!**
PARENTS: Please keep your kids safe! Be aware of where they are and what they're doing. Please note that the pole barn, like any pole barn, is NOT a place for kids to play!
CANS VS BOTTLES
Of course this is also an ADULT party! For those who bring in alcohol we suggest cans vs bottles, and we kindly ask that you respect Mother Nature and use the trash and recycling bins during and/or on your way out. EVERYONE is encouraged to spend the night on the property, either in your car, or, in your tent. We have an area, "tent city", that is beyond the main parking lot, for pitching tents. Tent City has its own porta potty. Many people hang out around the pit in Tent City and play acoustic til 3AM (you have been warned!). Our advice is to set your tent up BEFORE you're ready to pass out!
WHAT TO BRING
Umbrellas/raincoats (THERE! i SAID it!) lol. SUNTAN LOTION!! Bug spray. Bottled water. FOOD & Drink (we also have food vendor). BYOB (we don't sell it and stores are NOT right up the road!). Cameras. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt. Sometimes it gets cold after the sun sets. Camping gear including a thick blanket in case of cold.
Please DO NOT BRING any of this...
* Fireworks! *Large grills of any sort.
* Glass containers. If you DO bring beer bottles instead of cans, PLEASE be cool about keeping them either in your vehicle, or collecting them and taking them over to the barn where there will be containers to put them in. Even just bringing them over to the barn and piling them up by an outside wall is better than having them lying around the quite large area of open ground. Remember that a family actually lives here! :)
Things you can do to help:
1. First and foremost - show up and have a good time! It sounds dorky but it's true! The more the merrier!
2. Bring anything that you can think that you might want to share with others. If you or someone you know is a aspiring magician, clown, or facepainter; Wookstock is a great place to get some practice in! Just please let us know who you are and what you're doing ahead of time (we don't like surprises hehe). Also, we can give a shoutout from stage. \m/
3. Please pay close attention to the staff and crew on things like parking!
And last... respectfully... If you or someone you know is an ass at private outdoor parties, please stay home (or don't bring those friends with you!). Wookstock is cool because cool people attend. Period!
